The next
Gainesville Holistic
Health and Art Festival
is planned for
Saturday,
January 29, 2011
at the United Church of Gainesville
1624 NW 5th Avenue in Gainesville
FL
(at
the corner of NW
17th Street
and 5th Avenue)
10:00 am to 5:00 pm
Apply beginning in October to be part of it. Contact Maria (below) to be put on the
email list. Application forms due by January 7th,
2011.
Alternative medicine schools, practitioners, vendors,
educators, musicians, artists, and anyone who practices healing through
movement, touch, food, herbs, energy, sound, images, words…
We need YOU in order to make this
health fair a success!
An amazing array of holistic health practitioners will
demonstrate and explain their unique healing skills. There will be music, art, poetry, dance,
workshops, and fun things for families with children. The health fair was created to give our
community an opportunity to speak with a wide variety of holistic health
practitioners and see and experience their specialties.
The Gainesville Holistic Health Fair provides our local
and wider community with an opportunity for people to become more familiar
with alternative modalities and practitioners, and learn about the benefits
of alternative medicine and complementary modalities. Visitors to the health fair meet holistic
health care practitioners and have an opportunity to experience a sample
healing session. They are introduced
to empowering self-care and alternative techniques and philosophies that can
help keep them healthy.
The following forms and posters have not yet been updated
for 2011
PRACTITIONERS
WANTED! We want a variety of
holistic health practitioners at the health fair to provide samples of their
therapeutic expertise, including:
Acupuncture, Alternative Medicine Schools, Aromatherapy, Belly Dance,
Chiropractic, Cranio-sacral therapy, Crystals, Doulas, Ear candling, Electro-dermal testing, Energy
healing, Healing with sound, Herbs, Herbal teas, Infra-red light,
International Dance, Lymph drainage, Massage therapy, Midwifery, Music
Therapy, Natural Pet Care, Nutrition, Plant spirit medicine, Ortho-BionomyÔ, Osteopathy, Qigong,
Reiki, Self-care, Spirit Dance, Spoken word poetry, Swedish massage, Tai chi,
Thai Massage, Vaccine safety, Yoga, Zero-Balancing …and more…
EDUCATORS WANTED! We would like to offer discussions/ lectures/ workshops
on alternative health disciplines as well as topics such as self-care, baby
care, EFT
techniques, beading, Reiki, and more.
If you are an educator with something to offer to the public, please
apply now to share your knowledge.
ARTISTS AND MUSICIANS
WANTED! Healing music, art,
poetry, Belly Dance, Spirit Dance, tai chi, Qi
gong, yoga, and other holistic modalities that can be performed, demonstrated
and taught are wanted! We would like
to provide art exhibits, live music, and dance entertainment and teaching for
health fair visitors,
FOOD
SELLERS WANTED! We would like to provide
delicious, healthy, Nourishing Traditions type food for purchase. There is an indoor dining area and outdoor
picnic tables in the courtyard for dining, and there is a kitchen that may be used to
provide food prepared on-site.
FAMILY AND CHILDREN’S
PROGRAM PROVIDERS WANTED! For children and their families, we would
like to provide music, storytelling, crafts and activities in the children’s
tent and playground.
VENDORS
WANTED! We would like to offer
health fair visitors sustainable, health-promoting items such as crystals,
herbs, herbal teas, art, local handcrafts, all natural super foods,
cosmetics, and other products beneficial for the body, mind and spirit and the
Earth. Please no toxic products
(petrochemicals, heavy metals, etc.), and no processed nutritional
supplements or cosmetics.
NONPROFIT
ORGANIZATIONS WANTED! Nonprofit organizations
offering holistic health support and sustainability information are wanted to
provide information and participate in the Gainesville Holistic Health
Fair.
Please apply any time this Fall starting in October –
applications are due by January 7, 2011. Click on the
