Nutritional THerapy is part of A COMPLETE
program of Optimal Health Counseling
Optimal Health Counseling combines Nutritional Therapy,
massage therapy, and energy healing in a hands-on and educational approach. It is entirely individualized to your unique
needs. What is Nutritional Therapy?
The philosophy underlying Nutritional Therapy is that the
myriad of health problems that plague modern society result from weaknesses
in the body’s physiological foundations as a result of poor nutrition. Nutritional Therapy training is grounded in the belief
that health is based on a foundation approach to nutrition. A properly
prepared, nutrient-dense diet of whole foods provides the ultimate foundation
leading to optimal health. Based upon
the research of the early nutritional pioneers, Weston A. Price Who Would Benefit From Optimal Health
Counseling?
Optimal Health Counseling works for anyone, any age,
because it is entirely individualized.
It works in consultation with your body, so even if you are very
well-informed about nutrition and health, it can still make a significant
difference in your understanding of how your body works and what it
needs. This profound understanding of how to take care of yourself will empower
you to reach your highest potential in health and well-being. In fact, you will come away with many
tools to use to continue to take care of yourself in order to live a long,
productive life. This is also
essential knowledge in raising a healthy family. What tools does the Optimal Health
Counselor use?
First you will be asked to keep a journal of everything
you eat for at least three days, and turn that in before your first
appointment. Also prior to your first
appointment, you will be asked to fill out an intake form, a Nutritional
Assessment Questionnaire, and a disclaimer that makes it clear that your
practitioner is not a medical practitioner, and is not qualified to diagnose, prescribe, or
treat any disease. You will be asked to bring samples of foods that you feel
you may be sensitive to, and any supplements you are taking, to your first
appointment. At the time of your
initial appointment, you will be given an Initial Interview to gather
information on your health history. Optimal Health Counseling entails direct hands-on
therapy, including massage therapy and energy therapy. Sensitivities to foods, nutrients, and
other substances can be addressed through energetic healing methods. A Functional Evaluation will be given to assess where
nutritional stress exists in your body, and Neuro-Lingual Testing can be used
to evaluate which food, nutritional herb, or supplement is best for you. What happens at the first appointment?
Your first three-hour consultation is a packaged
deal. The three hours can be done at
once or split up into two or three visits.
You will receive general information on a healthy diet, and some more
specific information on issues that you may be having that have a nutritional
component. You will receive the results of a computerized Symptom
Burden Analysis with suggestions for nutritional support for potential
deficiencies. Using the results of the
Functional Evaluation, these recommendations will be verified and made
specific for you in accordance to your body’s innate wisdom. You will be able to order supplements through your
Optimal Health Counselor from Biotics, What is the Functional Evaluation?
Functional Evaluation Tests use a series of
neuro-lymphatic reflex points discovered by Frank Chapman, DO, in connection
with Lingual-Neuro Testing in accordance with the discoveries of George
Goodheart, DC. Functional reflex points
developed by Robert Ridler, DC and neurovascular reflex points developed by
William Bennet, DC, as well as signs discovered by Major DeJarnette, DO, DC
and others, are used to evaluate your physical health foundation. What might Optimal Health Counseling do for you? What I can do for you in my role as an Optimal Health
Counselor, is to provide you with information from trusted and proven sources
on nutrition and well-being. In addition, I can use Lingual-Neuro Testing and a
Functional Evaluation to determine specific nutritional needs, and provide
you with information on various methods of obtaining these necessary
nutrients through diet, supplements, and nutritional herbs. If there are emotional, mental, or other
energetic blocks keeping you from enjoying optimal health, I have tools to
use to deal with these, also. I have faced many health challenges myself, as well as
through my family in my role as mother and grandmother. I would be happy to share with you the
knowledge I have gained through overcoming the many health obstacles that
have been put before me in my lifetime.
In addition, my background is as a scientist (BA Environmental
Biology; MS Botany), so I am able to read and research to find reliable
information specifically relevant to you.
A NUTRITIONAL THERAPIST IS NOT the same as
A NUTRITIONIST
A Nutritional Therapist is a paraprofessional certified
by the Nutritional Therapy Association to make nutritional recommendations to
balance body chemistry and achieve optimal wellness. Through Nutritional Therapy training, a
practitioner is able to assess individual nutritional status and offer
dietary counseling to address and correct nutritional deficiencies, balance
body chemistry, participate in natural wellness, and work with other
healthcare professionals on behalf of their client. The state of Maria Minno, NTP, Center for Balance Telephone: (352)375-3028 Click here for information
